House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dan Rostenkowski represents Illinois' District Five. After serving in the state legislature, Rostenkowski was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he has served thirty-six years. Rostenkowski also chairs the Joint Committee on Taxation.
